Johnson spends $2M/year and takes 111 supplements daily. We examine what the evidence supports, what is speculative, and what Blueprint has actually demonstrated.
Bryan Johnson is a tech entrepreneur who has devoted a significant fraction of his net worth to a single project: reversing his biological age. The Blueprint protocol is the most extensively documented self-experiment in longevity history.
Johnson's diet is vegan, low-calorie (approximately 1,977 kcal/day), and eaten in a 6–8 hour window. His first meal (the 'Green Giant') is a 2,250 ml blended mix of broccoli, cauliflower, black lentils, mushrooms, garlic, ginger, hemp seeds, and olive oil. He eats no food after 11 AM.
Johnson's published biomarker data show that his epigenetic age is approximately 5–10 years younger than his chronological age (46 as of 2024). His VO2max (~58 ml/kg/min) is in the top 1.5% for his age. These are impressive results, but they are n=1, uncontrolled, and confounded by every aspect of his protocol simultaneously.
Vitaei verdict
Blueprint is the most ambitious and transparent longevity self-experiment ever conducted. Its value is primarily in demonstrating what is achievable with extreme adherence to a comprehensive protocol. The dietary pattern and exercise protocol are the most evidence-grounded elements.
