Lycopene — The Tomato-Derived Antioxidant

Lycopene is a bright red carotenoid pigment found abundantly in tomatoes, watermelon, and pink grapefruit, renowned for its potent antioxidant properties. In the context of longevity, it is primarily valued for its ability to mitigate oxidative stress, improve endothelial function, and reduce the risk of age-related cardiovascular diseases and prostate cancer.
